Anne Samson – Qualifications
Registered Teacher and Life Member Royal Academy Of Dance, London 50+ years Teaching Experience Adjudicator Freelance teacher / Seminar Instructor Profile I was introduced to ballet at a young age when my mother played the piano for Auckland Ballet Academy owned by Creina Gee, Royal Academy of Dance Graded Examiner. We (my 4 sisters and I) would sit for about 4 hrs on a Saturday morning while mum played under the guidance of Rosemary Clarke a wonderful young teacher whom I developed such a passion for dance from her teaching. As time went by and passing all my exams with the highest of marks I finally became a teacher and worked for the Auckland Ballet Academy, having no car I would bus everywhere to teach at our 5 branches, at times it would take 2 buses to get there and back. I think I spent my life on buses in those days. My family and I choose to move to Rotorua in 1986 which was a brilliant move for my ballet career. I have had the privilege to work within the local primary schools for 15 years running a specialised dance program which has been a highlight for me. As my ballet school built I had to give the schools program away which was a very hard decision to make. Ballet has enriched my life, I am very passionate about sharing the experience of dance to as wide a range of people as I can. Vision I endeavour to teach to the highest of professional standards, giving all students constant structured methodical teaching. Encouraging all age groups to strive to their personal best, being respectful at all times and always wanting to return to the studio for more training no matter their age. As part of a commitment to lifelong learning, we RAD Registered Teachers also participate in CPD Continual Professional Development, to enhance our qualifications as leaders in the dance education field. |
